*a bit of physics* **I also happen to be military**
now before I get killed, it should be noted that everything that the one above said was true in the case of Terrestrial combat. eve is a space game however so some things about how fights work will be different.
1: space is a void. for those that dont know what that meens: space has no air pressure that could carry a blast wave of a missiles, thus preventing it from doing maximum damage as seen on earth.
2. with said void a missile would have to relay on only its own distructive ability to make something hurt, this would meen exp velosity radius and over all damage are very important factors.
A. Exp Velosity: the speed of the target at time of expostion. . . I could be wrong but I dont think we are having a problem with this one.
B. Radius: the extent of the explostion. this one is very important when fighting in space with missiles as there is no blastwave like on earth. to do damage there must be soemthing out there pushing on the ship.
know what, im going to tie in the last two togeather. the amount of damage per square ft/m is directly related to the size of the blast and the ship. what is displayed as damage is the total amount that the exposive field can produce. it must do it in a finite space thus making it a damage/ft-m. ** it would be much like that in real life, things would just die quicker then in eve.** that said, a ship much smaller then the extent of the explosion WOULD take a fraction of the damage as much of it is just flying past him.
I dont know what people are talking about another nerf. . . I havent read anything on it nor been able to get on the test server to see it first hand. . . wouldnt mind a link.
I do know that what has been stated in post prior to mine make it sound *without a dout* as if they are making them just plain suck :p
but, moving on.
I do have to agree with my good fello about the unballance system we are currently in, though I dont think I know of a good way to fix it. a number of things erk me about the game that I will not talk about here as they would be going off topic. I think the sig rad of missiles are unballanced as is I guess. . . I think they need to be slightly smaller though its hard for me to say to what degree.
